Map Maker School is a year-round bridge program for all students on the spectrum—Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or nonspeaking who use ASL as communication. We exist to catch these students, equip them with the language and regulation skills they need, and successfully transition them back to their local schools ready to succeed. Our parents attend biweekly ASL classes and a weekly 1:1 session to discuss home life and behaviors, as well as the monthly autism workshop and at least one monthly social group meeting.

Why Give?

We rely on the community organizations and businesses who already support public education, to help us catch and bridge the students who are legally and systematically denied appropriate access at public institutions. We are not giving families a handout, but a hand up. Our students come to campus and have a set plan on when and how they will be returning to public or private schools. We want our students to have an actual chance for success in a system not made for them, by first meeting them where they are at, and as a collective team, build a map to get them there.

So often parents are stuck between specialists and therapies while juggling real life, there’s no breathing room for the family or student to get out of survival mode. Contributions like yours are what help us continue to build, make stronger communities, and give our students a chance to be heard.

Thank you for understanding that without you we cannot serve them fully. The only way out is through, and the only way through is together.

We are the safety net.

Thank you for helping us catch them.
